1. HOW DO I GET A
LIBRARY CARD ?

Anyone living in our service area is entitled to a free
library card.
-
Anyone living in Westmoreland County is entitled to a free
library card.
-
Anyone eligible under the ACCESS PA program is entitled to a
free library card.
-
All
others pay an annual fee according to the current yearly
rates.
-
For
adults - (16 years and older) 2 forms of ID including one
with a current address .
-
Children ( 6 - 15 ) must be accompanied by a parent or legal
guardian. This adult must have two forms of ID including
one with a current address. This adult must sign the
registration card in addition to the child and must be
responsible for any overdue, lost or damaged materials.

For
any lost cards a replacement fee of one dollar will be
charged.
2. CIRCULATION
POLICIES
-
New
fiction books circulate for seven days.
-
New
non - fiction books circulate foe fourteen days.
-
Older fiction and non fiction books circulate for fourteen
days.
-
Audio books and videos circulate for fourteen days.
-
All
materials may be renewed one time.
-
Every cardholder is limited to twenty circulating items.
3. INTER- LIBRARY
LOANS
-
Every cardholder is entitled to use the Inter- Library Loan
service.
-
Each
cardholder may request up to three items. No more than three
items may be circulated at a time.
-
Circulation due dates for Inter - Library loans are
determined by the lending library.

LOST OR DAMAGED MATERIALS

Fines will be assessed for all late items according to the
following schedule;

All
items owned by the Scottdale Public Library - $o.10 per day.

All
items borrowed from other libraries( ILL, PA ACCESS) - Fines
are set by the lending library.

If
an item is LOST or DAMAGED beyond repair,
the patron is liable for the replacement cost of the
material. The Library will set the price for these items
according to current availability of material.

Patrons who have unpaid overdue fines or nonpayment
of lost or damaged materials may be subject to loss of
library privileges. This loss of privilege applies to the
entire household.
